Raja Bhoj was troubled every day by hearing stories of greatness and renunciation of King Vikramaditya from the new effigy.
But he could not give up the temptation to sit on the throne. On the other hand, people of Ujjayini started to hear stories of the sacrifice of their former king Vikramaditya from the effigies of the throne in large numbers every day.

On the ninth day, as King Bhoja started moving towards the throne, an effigy named Madhumalati woke up and said, stop Rajan, can you sacrifice your life for the subjects like King Vikram?
If not, listen to the story of King Vikramaditya.

Once King Vikramaditya organized a huge yagna for the happiness and prosperity of the state and the subjects.
The yagna continued for several days. One day the king was reciting mantras, then one sage came there.
The king saw them, but it was impossible to leave the sacrificial fire. He greeted and paid obeisance to his mind.

The sage also considered the intent of the state and blessed him. When the king got up from the yagna, he asked the sage the purpose of coming.
The king knew that the sage runs a gurukula in the forest, just outside the city, where the children go to get education.
The sage replied that he did not give any inconvenience to the king on the auspicious occasion of the yajna, if the question of the life of six children from eight to twelve years was not there.

The king asked him to explain everything in detail. On this, the sage told that some children were roaming around in the forest picking dry wood for the ashram.

Then two demons came and captured them and took them to the high hill.
When they did not find the sage present, they wandered out of the forest in search of him.
Then a roaring sound was heard from the top of the hill, which was definitely one of them.
The demon said that instead of the lives of those children, they need a man whom they will sacrifice in front of their mother Kali.

When the sage wanted to surrender himself to him for sacrifice, he disagreed.
He said that the sage is old and the black mother will not be happy with the sacrifice of such a weak old man.
A very healthy Kshatriya is needed for the sacrifice of Kali Maa. The demons have said that if someone tries to free those children by deceit or force
So those children will be rolled off the hill and killed.

Sage's trouble was not being seen by King Vikramaditya.
He immediately got ready and said to the sage - 'You took me to that hill. I will present myself for sacrifice in front of Kali.
I am healthy and Kshatriya too. The demons will have no objection. ' The sage listened to his surprise.

He wanted to celebrate a million, but Vikram did not change his decision. He said if the king survives any misfortune on the subjects of his kingdom
So the king should overcome his calamity by giving his life.

The king accompanied the sage and reached that hill. They left their horse at the bottom of the hill and started climbing the mountain on foot.
The hilltop route was very difficult but he did not care for the difficulty. They reached the top of the mountain while walking.
On reaching them, the demon said that he knows the condition of the release of the children or not.

The king said that they came here only after knowing everything. He asked the demons to release the children.
A demon took the children in his arms and brought them down safely.
The second demon took them to the place where the idol of mother Kali was and remains sacrificial. Vikramaditya bowed his head to the sacrificer.
And they did not get distracted at all. He remembered God in his mind at the last minute.

He agreed to take the demon pillar and separate him from his head. Suddenly the demon threw the sword and hugged Vikram.
The place was suddenly filled with amazing light and fragrance.

Vikram saw that Indra and the gods of wind were standing in place of both demons.
Both of them did all this to test King Vikramaditya. They wanted to see that Vikram could only donate the worldly things or also had the ability to do mortification.

He told the king that upon seeing him perform the yajna, the feeling of this test was born in his mind. He blessed Vikram to be famous and said that his fame will spread around for centuries.

Madhumalati became silent after saying this. The next day, the effigy Prabhavati stopped the way of King Bhoj.
